Review on the Life on the Dancefloor Sparklers palette.

Hey guys,

I think 2018 is the year I decide what to name you beautiful subscribers... If you have any suggestions let me know below or by email (Bobbiebriscoe2@Hotmail.com).

This one has been a long one coming, since I did not have the time until after Christmas to review the Sparkler's palette. I mentioned in my previous post that you can purchase the life on the dancefloor palettes on Tam Beauty and also Superdrug.com (not in store).

Sparkler's palette click here
Or here

I used it in the video (which will be shown below)

My initial thoughts on this palette is that its  really good value for money, however I had a few issues with the matte shades. I guess its one of those palettes you get what you pay for, I felt the matte shades needed a lot of work whilst blending it on my eyes apart from the shade "push it". I had difficulty blending that purple shade (poppin) than I did with the rest of the matte shades I used.

I have not used all the matte shades on my eyes, but whilst I was swatching them on my arms some swatched a little chalky and I had to swatch them more than once. You will be able to notice in the photos below. Now I do not have a problem with that because the same thing happened with some shades in the Juvia's place Zulu palette (£20) and my Smashbox bold palette (sold out £24). Although those palettes work amazingly on my eyes, pack a punch of colour and blend out really well.

I have to remember that the Sparkler's palette is from the drugstore, so its not going to live up to the expectations of a high end palette. I do have to say most of the metallic and shimmers work tremendously well and I was pleased that they were as the Soph x palette performed really well too. I only had an issue with the dark blue shade "till morning" when I layered it on top of the concealer. I will try it out next time without concealer too see how it works.

I would rate this palette a 6.5/10.

Just because of the way it worked on my eyes. I think as a drugstore product it is a good palette for Halloween or if you prefer a cheaper alternative it would be great to have in your makeup collection. For me I felt it could of performed a little better, some shades I definitely will use in the  future.

I swatched all shades in the rows shown in the photo below. So you are able to see the shade names.

Hope you enjoyed reading this... Happy New Year and can not wait to jump into the new year!!!

Did I just get sent two more products for Free? - Alchemy Oils

Oils are one of those rare products that a lot of people just do not use or forget how useful it is for our skin and hair.

Ever since I did my own research on what essential oils to use for my body, hair and scalp I've found it extremely easy to find what oils that work out for me. Luckily enough I was just about to buy some more oil as I was running low and was contacted by email if I wanted to try out the Alchemy oils. To be honest I have never heard of these oils before and when I looked on the LoveLula website the prices of these had me blind twice. But once I looked at the Alchemy website and read some information on the brand I could see why they retail for the price they are.

The Alchemy oils all come in several different fragrances starting from Peppermint, to Alma, Grapefruit and Earl grey. They are infused with vitamins (A to C) and have NO parabens, sulphates, PEGS, silicones, mineral oils, glycols, TEA or DEA. These cruelty free oils are made with natural ingredients which is beneficial for promoting hair growth, as a heat protectant, to help for hair loss and to help strengthen your hair. The brand also won for best beauty in 2017 for the Stylist and have a few other awards too.
What I love most about the oils I received are the scents and how they're not so greasy like other oils I have used in the past. Just so you know each oil works in different ways but is catered for all hair types for men and women.

You can purchase the Alchemy oils from Lovelula or Alchemy oils website. Travel Size (30ml) from £8- £9
Normal size (100ml) from £21- £27
You can also look on the Alchemy oils website for more information on the benefits each oil does for anyone. (Ingredients on the websites to)

Peppermint Oil: As you can see in the photo I was sent a small sample (travel size) which is perfect for travelling as well as trying it out for the first time. I actually used the Peppermint oil as a deep oil treatment over night with some of my leave in cream from crème of nature. Some people do warm up the oil when their doing a deep oil treatment, in my case I just detangled sections of my hair with the leave in and mixed it with the oil to make sure it was detangle properly. I focused the oil on the ends of my hair because it's the most driest part of my hair and ended up leaving this overnight. I did put a little bit of the oil on my scalp as well and I love the tingling feeling it gave me that's a sign the oil works. The scent of the oil smells amazing. On my wash day my hair was very manageable to separate in the shower and the deep hair treatment worked well on my hair type which I was pleasantly surprised.

Rate 4.5/5

Note: A little of the oil goes a long way, so do not use too much.

Alma Oil: This particular oil was used to seal in the moisture after washing my hair as I wanted to try out this oil instead for styling my hair. The Alma oil has a sweet scent almost like a citrusy scent but I adore the smell of both the oils. I used this on each section of my hair from root to ends of my hair and it worked really well. Definitely think about what oil you would love to try out and let me know.

Rate: 4/5

Mazuri Shea Butter Naturals- Time for something different

October. The season where leaves fall and the abundance of strange weather. And its that time to start protecting our hair from the harsh weather, so what have I got in store for you...

Hey Guys, as you all know I love to try out particular hair products and switching it up a little. Thankfully I was contacted and sent some natural hair products through PR.  I have come across this line in my local hair shop, but never ever have I tried out this brand out before. Whenever I shop in a local hair shop there are so many products to choose from and it can be a little overwhelming at times.

The products that were sent to me to try out was the Mazuri Shea Butter Naturals line. I read some information on the Pak's website and found out its really great for all hair types, so if you are looking for moisturising products that are affordable and in your budget range then look no further than this hair brand. A little background story about the Mazuri brand, if you did not know this line was created by Pak's CEO Peter Mudahy. Having managed to transform the haircare industry for over 35 stores, the aim was to create a line for indivduals who have curly, frizzy, damaged and straight hair.

Funfact: The Shea Butter range derives from the Karite tree in Africa.

They are infused with olive, avocado, sweet almond and sunflower seed oil. These give the hair a lot of moisture as well as hydration, shine, bounce and definition.

I love the fact that the hair line caters for everyone with all different hair types whether you have straight, relaxed, curly or coily/kinky hair which is simply amazing.

The Mazuri Shea Butter range have an array of products starting from shampoos, conditioners, sprays and creams. I managed to get a hold of the Cowash and the leave in oil moisturiser. So what are my actual thoughts about this line?

You can purchase these at Tesco's and Paks cosmetics instore and online. Ingredients list on websites

Tesco's: click here
Paks Cosmetics: click here

Mazuri Shea Butter Naturals Cowash :  £6.99 /£8.99 473ml

Now I have not tried many cowashes in my lifetime apart from this and the Jane carter's curls to go line. This stuff is absolutely incredible, for those of you with curly/coily/kinky hair I definitely think you should try this out. Its super moisturising on my hair, glides through like a dream and makes washing your hair so much easier. I onlu used this to wash my hair and it was super quick. The consistency is quite runny as you can see in the photo below, but has creamy texture which is probably why I was able to detangle my hair in the shower. The scent is a little overpowering ( kind of reminds me of the Cantu scent) however once you place it on your hair the scent disappears.

I would rate this product a 4/5

Mazuri Shea Butter Naturals leave in Oil Moisturiser:  £4.99/£6.69 355ml

This versatile cream is used for styling, daily moisturiser and also a blow drying lotion. I had used it as a styler after washing my hair and I was pretty impressed. I did use my Alikay natural leave in spray, just so I could have a base before putting this lotion on my hair. It literally is what it says on the bottle and it gave my hair great definition especially doing two strand twists and using perm rods (Should of shown you guys results next time). I use this as a daily moisturiser too and it revives my hair very well. I think this is perfect for every hair type as a little goes a long way and helps to promote hair growth, recondition and hydrates. The cream is a thick consistency not far off from the Cantu curl activator cream The best thing about these products are they're all affordable. I know buying hair products can be quite expensive but the Mazuri line does not break the bank.

I would rate this product also 4/5

This blog post is not sponsored at all, I just got the products sent to me to review. All of my views are 100% my own.

Hope you enjoyed reading

Updated Skincare routine

Where have you been for a whole month? To be honest I really was focusing on life, work and didn't really know what to show you guys on my blog. So throughout August you will be getting four posts, starting with my skincare regime.

My skincare regime in the summer is quite similar to last year, but I have new products to show you guys. First being the Tarte cosmetics cleansing gel and the L'oreal Paris Hydra Genius aloe water for normal to dry skin (they also have one for sensitive skin and normal to combination skin). If you are a skin fanatic then you may be interested in using some of these products. Also let me know down below what skincare products are good for normal to dry skin so  I can test them out. Yes, I do still use my simple facial wash, but haven't been using the hydrating moisturiser for a while so I decided to get some things that I have never tried before.

List of Skincare products I have been using:

L'oreal Hydra Genius-  I use this to hydrate my face and neck in the mornings or evenings instead of using the light hydrating moisturiser from Simple. It is infused with pure Aloe vera sap and hyaluronic acid.  The lightweight and non greasy gel has a cooling effect and I use this with my double padded cotton pads.

Tarte Cleansing Gel (50ml)- I think this has become a stable especially when I feel like my wipes haven't taken all my makeup off. I wet my face just like I would with the Simple moisturising facial wash and massage the gel (it foams up) on my face between 30/60 seconds and rinse with lukewarm water. After drying my face with my towel my face feels refreshed and cleansed. The best thing is its vegan friendly and fragrance free.

Simple Micellar wipes/ Simple cleansing wipes- Depending on my mood I will either use the micellar wipes for some extra cleansing or the cleansing wipes just to take minimal makeup off.

B. Beauty 3 in 1 Micellar water (150ml) - I have rediscovered this product because I used to have this micellar water and then I forgot how good it was, I decided to repurchase it again and I love to use this on my face when I have just taken makeup off or if I feel my skin needs revitalizing. Such a great micellar cleanser (as good as Bioderma). Great for toning, purifying and cleansing.

Simple moisturising Facial wash- (150ml) If you've been following my blogging journey you know this is my stable facial wash. When I say I use this every morning literally I do, click here.

What are my thoughts on: Using Cantu Curl activator for the first time.

Raise your hand if you've tried out the a curl activator cream, I know I can't be the only one.

Hey guys,

Its been a while, hope you all are doing well and looking forward to the summer. The other day I came across a few recent videos and guess what I saw, I think the title explains it all. Yes you got it! The Cantu curl activator cream.

I am sometimes quite hesitant when it comes to creams that I feel may not work some for type 4 hair. But as you guys have seen from my Bouclème experience I really enjoyed it, I thought lets give this a whirl.

Guys you know how much I love using different hair products and what works and does not work for me I will mention it to you. The first time I encountered Cantu products I tried the Cantu's leave in conditioner a few years back and hated the smell of it and I did not like how it flaked up on my hair. I decided to try the curl cream out with my mane choice leave in conditioner to see what the hype was on this product.

I assumed that this product was going to be really thin, but when it was time to use it I realised that the formula was thicker than I expected. I was extremely impressed because I ended up achieving a great wash n go with this product, I actually couldn't believe it my curls were popping, I used no gel and had no crunch just pure softness with amazing tight curls. When doing my wash 'n' go my go to is to do the shingling method. Use about a dime size for each section you do. This product is fantastic for the summer, I definitely need too see how it holds out in autumn/winter season.

My overall score would be 4/5 for this cream. If you're going to buy these products don't forget its sold in Boots, Superdrug's (currently a 1/3 off) or even your local hair supply store. Local hair supply stores usually sell it cheaper but depends where you go.

Forgot to mention I just got the coconut curling cream which I haven't used yet, I might do a mini video on IG to show my results.

L.O.C method on type 4 hair (also works for type 2 and 3 hair too)

Hey guys,

Hope you all are doing well. If you don't know already I love to try out different types of products, but I was looking through my posts the other day and noticed I've never really shared the way I use products on my hair and especially after wash days.

For my type 4 and type 2/3 males and females out there I'm going to let you know how I do my L.O.C method. Side note this may work for you or it might not work for you. Anyway, if you do your method the other way LCO method then you should check out the products I use below it could be something you've been searching for your hair.

Let's start with what is the L.O.C. or L.C.O method? From what I've researched over the years I know it as a liquid (being a leave in conditioner), oil and cream (or gel)  or Liquid, cream and oil.  The LOC method is a great way to help seal in the moisture in your hair to last up until your next wash day. I prefer the LOC method on my hair, it works better for me.

Below click the links that are in Bold to be directed to the website.

Leave in conditioners I use (I switch it up when I do this method):

Crème of Nature - To think this was my first leave in spray and I still love it till this day. I think it works better to refresh my hair/curls because it's more water based than my other leave in's. However, it's a really good affordable leave in for a LOC method.

Lemongrass leave in Alikay Naturals - smells like lemons, very zesty and I adore this. I find the formula a little runny but also thick too for a spray leave in.

The Mane choice 3 in 1 leave in conditioner - this stuff is astounding. I have used this as a pre poo as well as a leave in (can be used as a co wash). I can use this and a cream and I am good to go, it gives me a lot of slip and helps to detangle my hair. I would say the consistency is quite thick, if you're not into it then try the spray ones above. But this is perfect for thicker hair. (It is not a spray)

Oils:

The mane choice growth oil - One word for this is WOW! I have been trying to find an alternative oil for my hair that did not really break my bank, and guys this is the product of the year. Not only is it useful having the handy twist applicator, but the oil is easy to apply and is not messy at all like my DIY one which I do not mind . It really gives my hair/scalp brilliant shine and keeps it nourished. Guys if you haven't heard of it, check it out.

DIY in the bottle on the right - a concoction of almond oil, avocado oil (you can find them in Holland and barret) and black Jamaican castor oil. I like to use the almond oil separately when I take down my hair if it's in a style out, although I like using these all together in my applicator bottle when I do my LOC method gives my hair great shine ( you can use jojoba oil which is a good oil). I also use the black Jamaican oil on my edges and sometimes on the ends of my hair (great for hair growth).

Creams:

Boucleme curl cream-  I have spoken about how good this cream is on my blog, I only have a little bit left for two more rounds. Definitely getting this again even though it's so expensive. This light weight cream is so moisturising and keeps my hair hydrated for approximately 5 days (which is amazing for me), my curls are always defined when I use it. Click here

Crème of Nature curl hydrating crème-  This cream is got to be one of my favourites for moisturising my hair as well as creating great twist outs/flat twists. I haven't mastered a braid out yet with this product yet, but I have seen loads of videos on people using this product. The product retails for only cost £5.49.

Keracare Butter Cream- I have used around 7/8 jars of this butter cream since I've been natural, I love using it for my bantu knot outs without gel (edge control) and sometimes to hydrate my hair when it gets a little dry. I want to find a different hair butter, it's been sold out on Look fantastic for ages now. You guys know I love to switch up on my products, so if you know any good hair butters let me know (even DIY hair butters).

If there are any brands that you guys recommend I should try let me know down below in the comment section, so I can try them out. I have recently purchased some products from The Mane choice and Mielle Organics, and I plan to do a video/review on those very soon.

Style out Session: Bantu Knot Out

Hey guys,

Over the next upcoming months I am going to be doing some video's and blog posts on my favourite style outs. If you know me very well, I absolutely love embracing my natural hair. I think it's been about a year since I haven't worn braids/ twist extensions and I'm loving my hair even more. This style out that you will see me doing is one of my favourites which is the Bantu knot out, you can even rock this style like Rihanna did or take it out like I will be doing (its totally up to you).

I will be making an account of my hair length, to what products I use, to what works and does not work on my hair. I have gotten a overwhelming amount of views on my previous hair posts especially the boucleme post, so I will be showing you guys how I style my hair and this may be helpful for my curly/coily/kinky females and males out there.  So I hope you guys enjoy my journey and video's.

If you have noticed I changed my blogger template and thanks to Pipdig I found the right one. I've been patiently waiting to change it for a while, I even went back on Etsy again to get some inspiration, but Pipdig was the best option for me. Hope you guys like it as much as I do.

Any suggestions? Comment below...

Hey guys,

As promised I have decided to do two video's this month and this is about the Beautylish lucky Bag. If your not familiar with this, the Lucky Bag is a New years tradition in Japan known as Fukubukoro. Beautylish have been doing the Lucky Bag for a few years now and this is my second time purchasing the Lucky Bag. I was so impressed with the first Lucky Bag I received in 2016 and I wish I could of made a video on it, but I am doing a first impression on this one for you guys.

The Lucky Bag costs $75 (£60.91) with tax fees added I spent about $108/£90.94 (international customers it's a bit more). The bag is suppose to have products that cost up to $150/£121.82 upwards. Below I will mention how much mine came up to.

I hope you guys enjoy this video, everything will be linked and listed down below and on Youtube too. So sit back and relax (do not forget a snack) whilst watching my Beautylish Lucky Bag Haul.
