Is it worth the hype spending money on High End Body Creams?

Hello guys...

By the way whatever they sprayed on the tissue paper smells awesome!!!

Before you start reading this you may want to grab a snack or a cup of tea because this post is a little long. If you follow me on Twitter, I tweeted that I went to L'Occitane on Tuesday. Now I haven't purchased anything like skincare from this shop before, the first time I visited L'Occitane (which was a year and a half ago) I only bought a refill for my diffuser.

I was really intrigued when I came across the body moisturisers on the L'Occitane website. I suffer with really dry skin, so I did a little research and saw what creams were the bestsellers and also what I thought would be great for my skin. My initial plan was to buy or try out the Shea Butter moisturiser, since I had heard great reviews about the hand cream and body cream. I saw the Almond Milk Concentrate too which had amazing reviews as well, so I was pretty torn between the two. I decided to make a visit in the Covent gardens store and the staff were so pleasant and approachable.

So I asked the Sales advisor if she could tell me a little bit about the body moisturisers, specifically the Shea Butter range. She had these little gold coloured scoops and told me about the 'Ultra Rich Body Cream' which was not the one I was looking for but I tried it out anyways. The 'Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Lotion' which was the one I wanted to try out, I thought the consistency was a little thin than I expected for the lotion one and the thicker ultra rich cream (body cream) reminded me of the creams I tend to shy away from (like a medicated cream) she did mention that it helps out for really dry skin.

The Sales advisor suggested that there are other creams around the store and if I would like to try there Almond creams out. She showed me both the Almond Milk Concentrate and the Almond Milk veil, she then scooped out the Almond Milk Concentrate onto the back of my hand (where I had space since I had the other two creams on my hand already), and at that point I instantly fell in love with the cream. It smelt lovely, the consistency was just right and after a few seconds of putting it on my hand it had an amazing shine. I was completely sold after that. You must be wondering how much it retailed for and I won't lie I gulped a little, it cost £38. Yes £38!

Do you see that shine... I'm dying 😩

I would not suggest to buy this if your a student, unless your working or you have saved up. I think it's definitely worth a try. I have never bought a body moisturiser for that much before. So I will have a review up in the next 1/2 months mentioning whether I will repurchase it again or not. Yay! or Nay!

I was completely satisfied with the customer service at L'Occitane (fantastic staff) and pleased they gave me free samples to try out too along with 20% off my next purchase.

If you have purchased anything from L'Occitane or any other High end brands let me know your experience down below or through twitter. I would love to know guys, also let me know what you would like to see next.
